inspire me VII

In late January, KUNSTEN opened up for a new exhibition, Marc Quinn: "All of Nature Flows Through Us", and I knew I just had to see it. Though, time went fast, and in the end, I thought I didn't get to go; but lo and behold! Yesterday, a friend took me there.

His humongous oil paintings are breathtaking. At first sight, they appear to be photographs, but a closer look shows them to be actual paintings - and his sculptures had me a bit frightened, especially A Moment of Clarity, which seems just a bit too real.

If you're near Aalborg before the 29th of April, it's worth a trip to KUNSTEN. Or, well, always is a good time to go to KUNSTEN.

my favorite places

Over the past few days, I've been so lucky to become ill. I can't sleep or eat because of the coughing :(
But today isn't just for feeling bad for myself; today is the day of The Fall of Sherlock Holmes (for everyone who watches BBC Sherlock). I'm trying to prepare myself mentally, but that's probably not going to work at all. Looking forward to tumblr going crazy and crying ♥

But I wanted to show you some recent pictures from my phone, and some from my camera;

And last, but not least, the amazing rabbit lamp my sisters got me for Christmas;

Do you remember The Cat With Hands?
As some of you might know, I'm a sucker for this kind of thing - I just can't get enough.
Here's a few of my favorites! And if you know of some good ones, please tell me about them ♥

hamburg trip

After the Harry Potter premiere I went to meet with Gabi in Århus - she had offered me a free 2-days vacation to Hamburg!
It was so nice of her, and I had a blast. She was going to get a tattoo, and I got to watch the whole process - I've wanted to see how it's done for quite a while.
The tattoo turned out amazing, it's so well done and beautiful.
I'm very grateful for the experience ♥
And I got to fill up on markers and pencils!

I've been meaning to post pictures from OkashiiCon since.. Monday. But I started to feel ill during Tuesday, and by Wednesday I could hardly stand up. Today I'm feeling a lot better, though I still have constant headache, feel dizzy most of the time and haven't got an appetite (and that is tearing me apart, I love food).
So, for good reasons I haven't been able to go get the pictures.

Therefore I will post new inspiration ♥

Mimi

Just before I'm heading out the door for OkashiiCon, I want to share this with you!
I recently commissioned LooneyLolita to do a drawing of my OC Mimi.
This is the outcome:

Isn't it amazing?! I simply love her style, it's so cute and scary at the same time. And I think she captured Mimi quite well ♥

Thank you so much Looney, keep on drawing ♥

Teacups filled with tears

Sometimes life end abruptly and unforeseen and other times you're waiting anxiously for death to make his move.
Either way, it's hard losing someone close to you.
I haven't quite understood it yet, it will probably take a while for me to do so - just like the last two times close family passed away.
And please, don't give me the "he's in a better place now" and "everything will be alright", I'm really tired of hearing that from people who don't know me that well.

You will be missed ♥

To end this on a more happy note, here's a pair of pictures of one of my weaknesses;

It Is What It Is

Last December, my oldest sister introduced me to the Youtube-account iamamiwhoami. She had read about this new music group, and when she saw the first few videos she thought about me; knew this would be something I'd love. And oh was she right, I fell in love instantly!
The anonymity, the obscure images, the symbolism and puzzles, everything was captivating. I started to follow their channel, waiting for every new video to come, which could take months, but everything new were even more magical than the other.
Everyone was discussing who it might be. Lady Gaga? Madonna? Christina Aguilera? Everyone was guessing. But images from the videos started to show more and more of this woman, always covered in something and with a distorted face - it became more and more clear that it might be the Swedish singer Jonna Lee.
I personally like to see through this, and still see iamamiwhoami as being, well, just iamamiwhoami.
Then, on the 1st of October, they posted a new video - asking for their followers to choose a volunteer. This volunteer would go to their concert, a concert with only one person watching.
The Youtube-user TehHills was chosen, but she didn't have a passport, so she chose the user ShootUpTheStation to go instead - he had to film his whole journey.

Then, on the 16th at 12:01 AM, Swedish time, the concert would be shown on their website. Due to high traffic on the site, it was 15 minutes delayed - and was only available for 4 hours. Sadly, I wasn't able to watch the concert at the time, but luckily someone had recorded everything.
I was glued to my computer screen for 1 hour and 4 minutes.
And I watched it again.
I haven't been listening to any other music since Tuesday.
This was so beautiful and everything suddenly made sense.
And I've never felt more inspired. Something in my changed because of iamamiwhoami.

Pictures from the concert; and here I have to say, this was not just a concert, but art. A journey through a forest, a storytelling, a funeral.
And here, to end this entry before I get even more carried away, is one of my favorite songs and scenes from the concert.

Thank you for this experience.

inspire me III

This is todays outfit;

Going to my parents summer cottage to help renovate today - hence the trunk (・∀・ )
It's a shame you can't really see the color of the dress, it's very dark green.

As you might see, I took a great inspiration from Dolly Kei. I fall more and more in love with this style, and I want to incorporate it into my everyday clothes. Sadly I haven't got a lot of suitable clothes, but I'll have to look for some sometime ♥
To be honest, I've loved this style ever since I laid my eyes on it. I love the rich, down to earth colors, all the layers and accessories.

Some Dolly Kei outfits that inspire me;
Man, I'm in love with it ♥

There's this "influence map"-meme floating around dA at the moment - and I did it too!
I spend a lot of time looking at things that inspire me (lol, almost everything inspire me) and I'm sad there wasn't room enough for everything to fit here~
But to show everything that inspire me would take years. At least ♥

What inspire you?

Som nogle nok ved, så har jeg en stor kærlighed for kaniner - og kaniner er også med til at inspirere mig rigtig meget.
